Plate 20: Three Ap Stars

The stars HR 7552 and HR 2534 have been described by Babcock (Ap.J.Suppl., No.30, 1958). He finds the former to be unique in the peculiarities of its spectrum and in the apparent constancy of its magnetic field; he finds the latter to be an extremely rapid spectrum variable, with a remarkable range of variation for the lines of Sr II.

For such complex spectra as these, it is necessary to use general line–patterns for discrimination on small–scale plates. The notation “kn” refers to the broad, shallow K–line.
